WEEK 2: PREPARING FOR BLENDED LEARNING
This week the focus was on preparation for blended learning. Approached in terms of knowledge, skills and competencies, within the context of my teaching practice.
Below are 3 extra tools I found useful during the week and added to the Blended Learning bolg.
- Extra Educational Technology Dictionary from Edshelf I posted this on the blog as the Glossary that was to be completed had not been used as a resource by the other participants.
- I have also created and account here for ed tech tools. I will see how they work over the coming weeks.
- Along with another web tool for drawing which is very engaging Doodly.
Resources over the past week there were:
- 5 videos very informative about the week, blended learning, pedagogy and the technology involved. Supported by case studies and a forward for this week.
- 2 exercises matching the correct pedagogy and a personal skills audit (see 1. below) checking current experience and any gaps that need CPD.
- GETTING TRAINING ARTICLE this has interesting links to training resources (see end of blog below)
- finally a reflection on the week.
- and a quiz (see 2. below) for the week to check understanding where I scored 100%.
1. Digital literacy skills audit.
A review of my result to the audit. I have identified any areas of weakness (6/10 need attention) and made a note of them in my journal. Total score: 179 / 250. A reasonable result, but has made me aware of my areas to improve.
2. End of week quiz results.
Over all a very productive and enjoyable week I added posts and commented on other participants posts. There is a great amount to gain from self study, but you need to be motivated and have self-efficacy. See below on training.
